Back to Square One

In Back to Square One the player is presented with an already started game of chess, where the goal is to go back to the start state by rewinding as few valid chess moves as possible, while playing both sides.

Dead pieces need to be brought to life too, so if you want to move a pawn diagonally, you will need to revive a dead piece to make that happen.

Controls:
Mouse is used to interact with the game. To exit press ESC on the keyboard.

How to Play:
Select the level you would like to play  [ Spicy Sicilian, Sinquefield Clash, Matovinsky Gambit ] and how many moves in you would like the game to start at. 10 is the hardest and 1 is the easiest.

Inside a level,  use the mouse to select a chess piece, then select where to move it. 
Available moves for a selected piece are shown in green.

To revive a dead piece, simply select it on the right side of the board, before selecting a piece and doing a move like normal. This is the only way to make pawns move diagonally.
